Outdoor chess in Madesimo

Playing chess is a great way to keep the mind sharp even on vacation but doing it outdoors and in the high mountains is truly something special. This is what happens in Piazza Bertacchi in Madesimo, in the centre of the village near the parish church, where in summer a large urban chessboard freely and openly accessible to everyone is set up: here, both adults and children can challenge each other by moving bishops, pawns, kings, queens, and knights that are giant, bringing to life exciting and scenic chess games, where the pieces seem like actors on a stage and the spectacle unfolds under the eyes of passers-by.
