Baldiscio Hut: a new adventure at high altitude
From August 30, 2025, a new landmark for hikers among alpine lakes, the Val Febbraro waterfall, and border trails
Starting from tomorrow, Saturday, August 30, 2025, the Baldiscio Hut officially opens: an important milestone and a new reference point for hikers and mountain lovers.
🗺️ Itinerary
The route begins in Isola and climbs through the valley once known for smuggling, rich in traditional “carden” barns. After a steeper initial stretch across meadows, the path becomes gentler past Ca’ Raseri, then widens into a dirt road through the woods alongside a stream fed by alpine lakes and the Val Febbraro Waterfall. The hike ends at the Baldiscio Pass (2350 m), where you’ll find Lago Grande and Laghetto del Mot, marking the border with Val Mesolcina (Switzerland).
For those looking for an easier excursion: from Isola you can drive up to Ca’ Raseri (with a pass) and continue on foot to the waterfall, or drive to Borghetto and then walk from there.
