The Via Spluga and Val San Giacomo Museum

The Palàzz, a 17th-century building located in the Corti district, houses the museum of the Via Spluga and Val San Giacomo and is the headquarters of the Vallespluga Eco-Museum.

The building, which includes a chapel from 1777, a historical archive, and an educational workshop, narrates the history of the valley and its ethnography through numerous exhibits. The themes covered are diverse: the Via Spluga and the picturesque journey, artisanal works, quarries, the birth of skiing and tourism in the valley, female embroideries and manufactures, pastimes, the traditional house, the “carden”, archaeological findings from Pian dei Cavalli dating back to the Mesolithic period, and local wildlife.
