Final Round of the Italian International Championships – RIDER CUP

2 September 2026

MADESIMO 4–6 SEPTEMBER 2026

Final round of the Coppa Italia DH

MADESIMO TAKES ON THE DOWNHILL CHALLENGE

The 2026 racing season is drawing to a close, and Madesimo is once again taking centre stage with a major downhill event.

All the titles in the Italian International Championships – RIDER CUP are up for grabs, promising fierce competition as some of the top Italian riders on the international scene battle for the coveted trophy, including Palazzari, Revelli, Arnoul and Mascherini.

Get ready for intense days of top-level sport and spectacular action, with Lombardy in the spotlight thanks to the hospitality of the Valtellina and Valchiavenna regions.

The Riders of the Valle delle Streghe

With just a few days to go before the season finale, excitement is already building thanks to the large number of entries and the outstanding calibre of riders set to compete on the “Valle delle Streghe” course, a long-standing classic on the Downhill Italia circuit, located within the Madebike Park in Madesimo.

From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September, Madesimo and Lombardy will host the final rounds of both the Italian International Championships – RIDER CUP and the Coppa Italia.

The starting line will feature not only Italian competitors but also several international riders, attracted in part by the impressive prize fund of more than €10,000.

The leading teams competing across the national circuits will be ready at the starting gate, alongside many riders who regularly compete in the World Cup and have just returned from the World Championships in Val di Sole.

The downhill discipline

Downhill mountain biking is a rapidly growing discipline, and in recent years many young talents have emerged from Italian racing circuits to make their mark internationally. One notable example is Filippo Gilardino, who recently won bronze at the World Championships and silver at the European Championships, having developed his skills within teams competing in the Downhill Italia Coppa Italia.

This thriving community puts Italy firmly on the map in the world of cycling, particularly mountain biking, where off-road disciplines attract thousands of enthusiasts. Downhill represents the ultimate expression of the sport: a combination of speed, adrenaline, spectacular action and friendship.

The paddock is a wonderful meeting place where competitors and their families come together at weekends to share their passion, enjoy a barbecue and socialise. They may be rivals on the track, but once they cross the finish line, friendship takes over.

In Madesimo, the event will also provide an opportunity to remember a dear friend and a leading figure in Italian downhill, Riccardo Gioberto, who sadly passed away recently. The prizes for the Esordienti and Allievi youth categories will be dedicated to his memory.

See you all in Madesimo on 4, 5 and 6 September!
